2016 Mitsubishi Outlander has fresh design

The Japanese firm Mitsubishi employs the New York Auto Show as a framework to present the first production vehicle - Outlander 2016 - in using the new design language called Dynamic Shield that we first saw in the concepts GC-PHEV (which anticipates the next Montero) and XR-PHEV (a kind of SUV - Coupe) which was presented at the last Paris Auto Show.

Cosmetic changes are noticed in the new grille, headlights, LED daytime running lights and fascias, stirrups, skulls LEDs and design 18-inch wheels. The interior meanwhile opens new steering wheel, seat upholstery, automatic climate control and a new color display for audio equipment

Although not a completely new vehicle as platform, prints and mechanics remain the same, it does offer a number of improvements that will allow better compete in a market dominated by titans like the Honda CR-V, Nissan X segment Trail, Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 to name a few.

Among the improvements that receive the Mitsubishi Outlander 2016 are: increased structural rigidity, redesigned suspension and electric power steering. Were incorporated into a windshield and acoustic medallion and isolate the elements that best engine noise is transferred to the passenger compartment.
For its part, the CVT was seriously revised to provide better acceleration, performance and delivery of torque at low revs. The engine remains the 2.4-liter MIVEC of 166 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, although there is also a 3.0-liter V6 with 224 hp and 215 lb-ft is available for the US market.

On security, Outlander 2016 also offers more elements within most notably, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Change Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control
